Spring Break
Following President Obama's release of the Bush Justice Department's Torture Memos, great controversy has ensued across the nation. While many Americans cringe at the revelations, others question whether or not the use of torture, or as the CIA strategically calls it, "enhanced interrogation techniques," actually works.
About a year ago, Andy Moriarty wrote an article titled, "Smoke 'em If You Got 'Em," in reference to cigarettes. I respect those wanting to protect the rights of smokers, but there are ways to cut down on smoking and ways in which some smokers could be more considerate.
With the ensuing economic crisis in the United States, new distinct divisions are presenting themselves, both between parties and inside them. Obviously, the stimulus packages show the distinctions between both political parties. All House Republicans voted against President Obama's first bailout package, worth $787 billion, while around 20 Democrats voted against it.
